Changing cells in excel resets stopwatch

I work as a script supervisor and have written my own excel code to use for my onset reports. I am doing a lot of things at once at any given time.
The Xnote stopwatch is great for me, but with the newer version (I used to have a very old simple one) I love the excel integration, but whenever I am timing, if I click a different cell while the stopwatch is counting, or after I have stopped it, it resets the counter to 0. Is there any way to disable this behavior? It's kind of a dealbreaker for me unfortunately... and I love Xnote.
