Problems with external control by home made Race-Track-Timer

Unread postby Jabse » Fri Jun 21, 2019 7:28 pm

Hello!

My english isn't pretty god. But I hope you understand me!

I am building an Race-track-timer.

But I don't know why the software starts/stops and resets the time in moments when it should not. Or it dosn't start/stop when it should be.

For example:

---> The time don't start/stop and the relay connect the RS-232 pin's (i hear and feel it). And the other way around. The relay dosn't connect the RS-232 pin's and the time starts/stops.

---> The time is reset although i only enabled start/stop funktion.

---> The time starts/stops/reset when I turn the traffic light to red. (There sould be no connection at all).

I have two videos on youtube where you can see it in action.

I hope someone can help me! Thanks in Advance!

Pins 1 and 9 are designated to reset (it's not documented). If your stopwatch resets accidentally that means there is an electromagnetic interference to them. The same here for the unintended start/stop. Also I see the contact bounce - start and immediat stop. The same for "not stopping" - actually it stops but starts imeddiately. Try to increase the bounce time.
Stay tuned.

Both 1 and 9 are inputs. Output voltage is supplied from 4 or 7.
