XNote Stopwatch 1.60 with MS Excel integration

Now it directly inserts Snaps into Excel sheet you choose. Formulas are being auto-recalculated.
I believe it's rather intuitive to configure, so I have not described. :)

Hi,

I see that there is an option 'Excel Integration' now.

You must start with opening an Excel sheet first before you open the 'Excel Integration' option.
Xnsw starts after that with installing a missing COM component from 65.55.13.243 ( origin-codecs.microsoft.com)
(My system is WinXP SP3 Int, US)

After that you gets the xnsw configuration dialog for the open Excel spreadsheet.
Define where you will put the xnote recording an d the next field.
Start to use xnote but nothing happened. (No difference, records stilll recorded in 'show results dialog'

I looked through my open windows and noticed that the dialog ' Install COM component' ws still open. Only available option here is to push the 'Cancel' button. The bar that should inform me about the dowwnload progress appeared to be empty.
Did canceled the dialog after 30 minutes.

I also noticed that my xnsw.ini was gone and by that my settings too.
Make a copy of this file befre you start your tests.

My second reply that the COM loading did not close was wrong. My settings were not gone.
I had a version 1.50 open.

Restarted test with 160b1. All seems to go well now but lap times are not recorded in the spreadsheet.
I think that a little instruction is required.

What MS Office version?

They are still recorded there but must appear in Excel spreadsheet too.

Excel 2003 SP2

RETRY.....

XNWS160b1 is located in C:\Program Files\XNote Stopwatch
Open blank spreadsheet

Start XNWS160b1:

Call integration option
Dialog opens: Installing COM component from 64.4.52.169.
Dialog keeps open. No progress at all.

Excel dialog was show with six lines. Three of them are settings. Three of them refer to sheet1,sheet2 and sheet3
Dialog disappears after a while.

Cancel dialog "Installing COM component" after 10 minutes.

Xnote works and results are written in show results window but never in Excel.
Work around (old fashion style): Copy to clipboard, paste in Excel.

Try to check firewall settings.

Could you send a screenshot? Also a screenshot of that COM dialog.

Perhaps that COM component is required...

http://www.xnotestopwatch.com/xnsw160b3.zip[/quote]

Selected : Book1 :: Sheet1
Cell: B2
Insert: Excels internal value

Test.
I only got one column and xnote results in spreadsheet are not persistent.

00:00:26,55
00:00:27,00 << Orginal value by xnote: 00.00.27.13.
=> Click into field, click on fx (menubar)
=> go to another field
=> milliseconds are lost => 00.00.27,00
00:00:27,84
00:00:29,00 << Orginal value by xnote: 00.00.28.58.
=> Double click into field
=> go to another field
=> milliseconds are lost => results 00.00.029
00:00:29,31

BTW. I used xnsw160b3.exe. xnote was not registred on the PC I used for testing. Perhaps that explains why I only got one column.

Unfortunately it is not xnote issue. You may try to enter time value manually and perform the same actions above on it and will get the same result. I tried to find solution on the net but seems nobody know of it.

Excel functionality is free during beta test stage. Of course it will be restricted in release. :)
What columns did you expect else? Xnote inserts only time values into Excel spreadsheet.

Excel Integration

Unread postby ambianchi2003 » Thu Aug 13, 2009 6:22 pm

I´m already an user of the 1.50 version and now checking the new 1.60 w/ excel integration feature.
For post calculations reasons, I´m using the time format all in seconds (up to 4 digits for seconds and 3 decimals for miliseconds). When trying to insert those times on the excel sheet and are over 60 seconds the figure that appeared includes only the value after those 60 seconds. e.g. if the time is 65,128 sec. the value in the excel cell is 5,128.
Am I doing something wrong?
Thank you for any help you can give me. :?: :?
