photocell array and XNote

I would like to construct a small photocell array in series. I would like XNote Stopwatch to start when the beam from the first pair of cells is broken and record splits as each successive beam is broken, stopping after the final beam is broken. Will XNote Stopwatch do this?

You must connect first and final pair together and connect to start/stop contacts whats you decide. Other pairs connect to snap contacts.

Thanks for the reply. Are you aware of a simple interface to which I can connect the photocells to the computer? Sorry for the potentially elementary question, but I am new to all this. I would like to connect everything to a laptop running the XNote software.

The only solution is a USB to COM adapter. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=884

You need to connect your photocells to an Opto coupler to create a switch. That switch is connected to Start/Stop or Snap wires on RS232
(I believe I put some description how to do this on my Camstudio4Xnote site)
This way you can compare your sensors with a regular Red or IR light beamer that I'm using

You want to use the first beamer to start Xnote. (RS232 - Start/Stop, with a huge Skip contact bounce )
Second, Third, etc beam to set a pass time (RS232 - Snap)
Finally, last sensor to stop recording. (RS232 - Start/Stop)
Connect all the cables and connect them to RS232
